Director of Hockey Operations

The Maine Wild are excited to announce that they have named Brad Church as Director of Operations for the youth Wild.  Church will direct the Wild in all facets of the program and will be responsible for day to day interactions with coaches and families of the Wild program.  "We are very excited to have Brad join our Wild family," stated General Manager Dan Fontas.  "Brad has a great reputation in the hockey circle and what he will bring to our program will only help in fostering the development of our players experience and skills." 

When asked about what he is excited to bring to the Wild Brad said, "Youth hockey should be a real positive experience for kids at all levels.  I am excited to help create that for the kids in the Maine Wild program."

Brad was named the Chief Operating Officer of the Portland Pirates in March 2014.  Prior to his new role with the Pirates Brad was serving as the VP of Legacy Global Sports and the GM of MHG Ice Centre in Saco.  Brad originally moved to Portland to join the Pirates on assignment in 1996 as a 19 year old Washington Capitals 1st round draft pick.  He continued to play 6 seasons, 281 games and served 2 seasons as an Alternate Captain with the Pirates.

After a 10 year playing career Brad joined the coaching ranks and served as the Head Coach/ Dir. Hockey Operations for the Phoenix Roadrunners of the ECHL, an NHL AA affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, 2006-09.   During the 1999-2000 season Brad was selected as the Pirates “Unsung Hero” and was also recognized as the AON/AHL “Man of the Year” in 2001-02 for his outstanding work in the Portland community.  In 2012 Brad was elected in to the Portland Pirates Hall of Fame.

Brad and his wife Kristin currently reside in Kennebunk with their 4 children, Luke, Dean, Weston and Finley.
